Ashkelon to host a free sand sculpture festival on Dalila Beach
Ashkelon Municipality has announced that the second sand sculpture festival will take place on July 27–29, 2026, at Golshim (Dalila) Beach. For residents, it is a free family event by the sea: the site will operate from 08:00 to 20:00, with the main programme starting each day at 17:00.
According to the municipality, the festival is organized by Ashkelon Municipality together with Ashkelon Tourism. Dozens of sand installations will be built on the beach by international sand-sculpture artists from Boracay Island in the Philippines. The works will draw on the world of the sea, animals and the summer atmosphere of the coast.
The site will be open on all three days, July 27–29, from 08:00 to 20:00. The municipal announcement says the main family programme will begin at 17:00, including children’s sand-sculpture workshops, starfish decoration, a kite workshop, a street orchestra and dance performances.
In the evening, the sculptures will be lit with special lighting. On the final day, July 29, at 18:00, residents are invited to the traditional ceremony of dismantling the sand figures.
Admission to the festival is free. Before going, residents should check the municipality’s latest updates: a seaside programme can depend on weather, beach conditions and operational city instructions.
