This page is the formal notice required under Section 11 of the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, and the requirements of Amendment 13. It explains who processes your personal data when you provide it to ashkelon.org.il, for what purpose, whether providing it is required by law, and what rights you have.
The controller of personal data collected through ashkelon.org.il is the team that runs the portal as an independent informational project (not the municipality). Contact for data-protection matters: info@ashkelon.org.il. The portal is not a registered commercial entity; if you need further identifying details, contact us and we will provide them on request.
Browsing the portal does not require providing personal data. Data you provide voluntarily — by email or through the job-application form — is given entirely of your own free will and with your consent. The law does not require you to provide this data, and there is no legal consequence for declining: you simply will not receive a reply to an inquiry, or will not be able to apply to a specific job by email.
Analytics data is processed by our service providers Yandex (Yandex Metrica) and, where used, Google (Google Tag Manager) — each an independent controller for the purposes of its own service. Job-application form data is sent directly to the employer named on that specific listing, bypassing the portal entirely. We do not sell or transfer visitor personal data for third-party marketing purposes.
Some of the recipients named above (Yandex, Google) process data on servers located outside Israel. This transfer occurs only to the extent required for those analytics services to operate, in accordance with Israeli law governing the cross-border transfer of personal data.
The portal does not use visitor personal data for automated decision-making, profiling, or showing personalised advertising to specific individuals.
We keep email correspondence for as long as needed to handle your inquiry and maintain a record of it, after which it may be deleted on request. Analytics data is retained per Yandex Metrica's standard retention settings.
The portal does not currently maintain a structured database of visitor personal information subject to mandatory registration with the Database Registrar at the Privacy Protection Authority: we do not create user accounts, and email correspondence is handled as ordinary correspondence rather than a systematised database.
Under Sections 13–14 of the Law, you have the right to: find out whether we process your personal data; review it; request correction if it is inaccurate; and request deletion of data you provided us directly (such as an email you sent us). Note that data you send directly to an employer through the job-application form is held by that employer — requests about it should go to them.
To exercise your rights, write to info@ashkelon.org.il specifying which inquiry you're referring to. We will respond within the timeframe set by law.
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data you provide us against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure.
We may update this notice as our data-processing practices change. The current version, with its update date, is always available on this page.
