Ashkelon.org.il is an independent city information portal. It is not the official website of the Ashkelon Municipality and does not act on its behalf. Verify details of services, events and offers directly with the relevant organiser or provider.
This policy describes what data the portal processes, why, who receives it, and how to exercise your rights under the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981. The formal Section 11 notice is on the “Personal Data Processing” page.
The portal is run by a private individual as an independent information project; there is no legal entity. Operator: Leonid Goldberg, tel. 0557738943, goldberg@ashkelon.org.il. The portal has no accounts or login. You can read news, events, the directory and vacancies without providing personal data.
Optional cookies and analytics — Yandex Metrica, Google Tag Manager and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which measures visits from ads — do not start until you press “Allow optional cookies”. Rejecting them does not limit access to the portal. You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page; only the choice, its date and the notice version are stored, in your browser.
Session recording (Webvisor) and click maps are switched off. Even so, cookie identifiers and IP addresses may allow data to be linked to a device, so we do not describe this data as anonymous.
Yandex and Google are independent providers; processing takes place outside Israel.
The application form sends your name, phone and message to the portal's server, which forwards them by email through an automation service (n8n) to whoever posted the vacancy. The portal is not an employer or recruitment agency, does not screen candidates and does not evaluate applications.
The server and the automation service handle the data only to deliver the email. Retention of technical logs and automation run history is not yet finally set; we are working on limiting it. After delivery the employer controls the data as an independent controller.
Messages to the assistant go from the portal's server to an automation service and a third-party AI model provider, which writes the reply. The conversation is tied to a random ID kept in your browser so the assistant can take earlier messages into account. The provider and countries of processing are being confirmed; the list will be published on this page.
Do not enter personal, financial or medical data, ID numbers, passwords or codes in the chat. We do not use the chat to collect contact details.
Form data is stored on the portal's server and passed to the editors for moderation (including via a private Telegram chat). Once published, the business, event or vacancy details you gave become public. Do not enter other people's personal data without their consent.
We keep emails to info@ashkelon.org.il to reply and to keep a record of the request. Access to the mailbox is limited to the people running the portal. No retention period is set; correspondence can be deleted on request unless keeping it is needed to protect rights or meet obligations. Copies may briefly remain in the mail provider's backups.
Listings and vacancies link to organisations' websites, WhatsApp, social networks and maps. We do not control how those services process data.
Data may reach Yandex and Google (analytics, only with consent) and a third-party AI provider outside Israel. We do not claim these transfers have been confirmed as compliant with the cross-border transfer rules: review and contractual safeguards are being confirmed. Until then we limit the data sent to what this document describes.
You may request access to your data, and its correction or deletion (Sections 13–14 of the Law). Write to info@ashkelon.org.il saying what it concerns. We will review the request and reply within a reasonable time, taking applicable legal requirements into account.
The portal is not intended to collect children's data. If a child sent data without parental consent, write to us and we will delete it.
