The theatre was founded by Vladimir Azarov and now bears his name. Since 2019 its artistic director and stage director has been Irina Lev, a graduate of the Karpenko-Kary Theatre Institute in Kyiv (drama theatre directing) and of the Institute of Culture (directing of public celebrations). She also writes the fairy tales for the children's productions.
Between 2019 and 2026 the theatre staged 11 plays for adults and 5 original children's musicals. Menora is a laureate of the annual Colombina theatre festival.
