flydubai Flight FZ1073 Lands in Tabuk After Onboard Incident
On September 30, flydubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv made an emergency landing at Tabuk Airport after an onboard incident. The airline said all passengers were safe; the airport reported that both pilots were injured and taken to hospital. The cause remains under investigation.
According to Tabuk Airport, its air traffic control centre received a distress call from FZ1073 at 8:44 local time. The aircraft, travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv, landed safely at 9:45. Passengers were assisted at the terminal after landing.
The airport said the captain and first officer were injured and taken to hospital. flydubai separately said all passengers were safe and that its teams were working with the relevant authorities.
The Israeli prime minister held security consultations; his office said the situation was under control and that steps were being taken to return the passengers safely to Israel.
The cause is under investigation. Different accounts, including an allegation of an intentional attack, have appeared publicly, but at publication time this had not received final official confirmation and should not be presented as an established fact.
