Free parking and a festival in Ashkelon for Sukkot
From September 25 to October 3, parking in Ashkelon’s blue-and-white spaces will be free, including along the coast. The municipality has also announced the schedule for free sukkah branches, the Four Species market and the “Journey Through Time 5” festival.
Parking in blue-and-white spaces will be free, with no need to use a parking app. Sukkah branches are being distributed free to Ashkelon residents who present an ID card on September 22–24 from 08:00 to 14:00, and on the eve of Sukkot, September 25, from 08:00 to 13:00. Enter from the Eli Cohen-Ort gravel parking lot, opposite the Academy Campus.
The Four Species market is open September 22–25 at two locations: Beit Ami on HaAvoda Street and the plaza by Ohel Moshe Synagogue on Histadrut Street. Hours Tuesday through Thursday are 08:00–23:00; on Friday, the eve of Sukkot, the market is open 08:00–15:00.
The “Journey Through Time 5” festival will take place September 29–30 from 10:00 to 16:00. Admission is free. The program includes tours of historic sites, workshops and family activities. Later in the day, performances by Michal Hak’tana, Shahar Tavoch, the Sapir family and Dylan Dror are scheduled on the Afridar lawn near Beit Ha’am.
