Kadesh Bridge will link Ir HaYayin with the center and coast
Work is advancing on Kadesh Bridge in Ashkelon’s Ir HaYayin neighborhood. According to the municipality’s July 14 notice, it is the second of three bridges planned for the area and is meant to give residents a more direct, accessible link to the city center, the coast and employment zones.
Ashkelon Municipality says work is now under way on ground anchors and bridge plates for Kadesh Bridge. The project follows the completion of the Amphora Bridge and is the second of three bridges planned as part of the development of Ir HaYayin.
Once completed, Kadesh Bridge is expected to cross Kadesh Boulevard and create a continuous, accessible and safer passage between Ir HaYayin and the coastal strip. The municipal notice also says the bridge is intended to become an important transport axis to central Ashkelon and to the developing employment, commercial and industrial areas.
At the same time, development work continues in Ir HaYayin Park. The published list includes children’s play facilities, a ninja area, walking and cycling paths, a pedestrian bridge, an extreme-sports zone, pergolas, water and electricity infrastructure, lighting and landscaping.
The new skatepark, which will be part of the park, is at an advanced construction stage and, according to the municipality, is expected to open in the coming months. Residents should follow municipal updates for opening dates and any temporary traffic changes around the worksites.
