Flydubai announced that it was suspending flights to and from Israel until the investigation is completed. The decision came alongside the prime minister’s directive and recommendations by the transport minister and the head of the Shin Bet to suspend flights pending the investigation. Israeli airlines will operate repatriation flights once they receive final security approvals.

The Transport Ministry said it had made an urgent request to increase the number of Etihad flights from Abu Dhabi to Israel. Separately, at the prime minister’s direction and following a request by Transport Minister Miri Regev, the Finance Ministry agreed that the state would compensate Israeli airlines for their costs. The airlines will fly empty to the UAE and return with Israelis who had been due to travel home on Flydubai.

Israeli airlines are required to maintain fair prices and not take advantage of the situation. Passengers are asked to follow the repatriation schedules of El Al, Arkia and Israir, whose flights will begin on October 2.

Passengers who flew with Flydubai should contact the airline to claim all their rights under the law, including accommodation, a refund for the flight and additional assistance as needed.
