Summer events in Ashkelon 2026: the sand sculpture festival and 'Kaits 10'
Starting July 1, 2026, Ashkelon launched 'Kaits Sameach BaAshkelon' (Happy Summer in Ashkelon) — a series of family events and activities running through July and August. Under the 'Kaits 10' project, residents get access to activities — bowling, movies, paintball, waterball and stand-up comedy — for 10 shekels.
One of the program's highlights is the sand-sculpture festival at Surfers Beach (Delilah), running from July 27 to 29, 2026. Over 1,000 tons of sand will be turned into giant sculptures of beloved children's-story characters — artists from around the world will create around 15 large figures, with additional family activities along the promenade. Admission to the festival is free.
Beyond the paid 'Kaits 10' activities, free events run throughout the summer at community centers, the youth center and other locations across the city. The current schedule is best checked on the municipality's events page.
