Ashkelon Academic College: faculties and degree programs

Ashkelon Academic College is a state-recognized institution authorized to award bachelor's degrees, and master's degrees in several fields, in its own name. It grew out of a Bar-Ilan University branch that opened in the city back in 1967.

The college has a Faculty of Economics (management, logistics, banking and accounting) and a Faculty of Social Work — both offering bachelor's and master's degrees. A separate School of Health Sciences offers bachelor's programs in nutrition, nursing and public health.

Other bachelor's programs include political science and government, computer science, sociology and anthropology, psychology, criminology (with a master's track as well), Israel studies, tourism and leisure, and interdisciplinary social sciences. The Council for Higher Education recognized the college as authorized to award degrees starting in the 2006/07 academic year.
